Socialization is the key for a happy dog. That doesn’t mean that your dog, must always walk with other dogs and/or greet every single dog or human he meets during a walk. It means that your dog will become adjusted to the world, both inside and outside of your home. Daily walks are great opportunities to expose your dog to new sights, sounds, smells, humans and other animals.
Having a socialized pet means less stressful visits to the vet. Socializing a dog will give you the ability to take your dog on walks without worrying that he might snap at someone unexpectedly or begin to chase someone on a bicycle or skateboard. It will even help to have a calm dog during a pleasant time sitting at a patio. A socialized dog will not face anxiety, fear and aggression. When your socialized dog faces unfamiliar people, dogs, and places without fear, he will be happier and more confident throughout his life, making your job as a dog owner easier and more enjoyable.
